So I didn't have a choice, the XT5 had the exact options I wanted and was the only one in 500 km around me that I liked. I was lucky and got 0% financing on it as well. I have zero regrets, love the XT5 and am perfectly fine with the 2.0. So all things equal, I'd go with 3.6.
this thread is not a pissing match between who got a better deal, it's a debate on the pros/cons of 2.0T vs 3.6 to which i was bringing a different perspective...my quip regarding bang for the buck and real performance was to needle both the 2.0T and 3.6 camps, because, as you point out, a 3.6 CTS is often in the $58k to $59k range and a V ...
the 2013 is a different car in that it's the prevoius Generation and there is nothing wrong with the 2.0T in fact a 2017 2.0T is significantly faster than a 2006 STS 3.6 to 60 MPH 5.8 seconds vs 6.5 and does this while saving you gas with a city/highway rating of 21/31 mpg vs 18/27....
My stock Halogens on my wife's 2019 XT5 were about as bright as holding a 3 cell flashlight out the window. I did some extensive research on upgrading from stock Halogens to LEDs watching about 19 videos and researching 23 LEDs. I am a Cadillac XT5 owner, not affiliated with any company or manufacturer nor do I work on my cars myself.
It just felt unrefined and like I was driving a golf cart. The 3.6 in the XT5 is a good engine and feels and sounds more refined. In addition the Platinum XT5 option is sweet and not even offered in the XT4. My dealer says they see very few XT5's with the Platinum option.
Cons: Anytime Cadillac does something to cheapen the look of their vehicles this is a disappointment. Look under the hood of the SRX then XT5. Look under the hood of the SRX then XT5. A big let down, the SRX features an expensive looking mold engine cover with the raised Cadillac crest.
I am at the Medved Cadillac dealer now with a Transmission Service indication on my 2017 XT5. It has 81699 miles. I also had a Engine Service Light indication as well. The fist indication of an issue occurred yesterday morning when my dashboard lit up with several alarms (reduced steering, transmission, braking, etc).
When it get HOT down here in the south, on my XT5 and CT6. I adjust the rear seat temperature to low and the fan on high using the CUE screen. You would be surprised how quick the car cools down. Of course, I do it if no one is in the back seat. Works for me. (an we had temps up to 99 this past week. Plus, I use the seat blower which I just love.
The XT5 is quiet and smooth, drives great and lots of power with the V6 and gets average of 26 MPG @ 70% highway driving. I had a 2019 XT4 and it too is a really nice car. A bit louder but very nice, the XT5 though feels heavier and has more room. So to answer your question: 100% YES I would buy another XT5.
