The product, as you would assume, still shows a proper license and is activated. Suddenly, Outlook will only work if I sign in to Office.
05 May 2017 #2. Hi mccoady. if you go to accounts.microsoft.com and login with your 365 id and password. If when you go you are automatically logged in I would peek at what is under the heading Services and Subscriptions, just to be sure. Then log out and retry with Office 365 id.

14 Mar 2020 #2. Check with different Windows account. Create a new user, and set up new (I guess .ost file). If everything is fine there. Your data file somehow became corrupted. Much depends on your mail provider. guess (again) you have exchange - fastest to set up. Make a backup, delete your account and start over.
It didn't show any Office install. I have since used the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant. It says I have no Office installed. I have tried Disk Cleanup and CCleaner registry cleaner. I let them do whatever they wanted to cleanup. Then I ran setup.exe from the Office 2019 cdrom again and right now, I am hung again at 2%.
Thanks, I'll try that. All my files and folders are present on the non-activated Office 2016 app on the large hdd. It's just that the app isn't activated. I'm doubtful that the assistant will find anything wrong as all appears OK. I've ghosted hdds before when I needed bigger ones. This is the first time I've struggled.
