A dual pack of Sena SMH-5 headsets with universal microphone set is $179 on Revzilla. That gets you rider to rider comm, and cellphone/nav integration. For $100 more you can get into the SMH-10 family and that gets you all the multi-rider comm functionality (up to 4 riders) #4. Grreatdog, Jun 11, 2019. #5.
1,350. Location: Alexandria Virginia and Ottawa, Canada. I replaced my original Sena SMH10 intercom with a new 10S last year. It has an earbud port, and I simply plug may earbuds into that. That's the only way I use it, so I did not install the 10S speakers. I did not have to cut the speaker wires, as they have plugs.
Wire Sena (R+) to pin (2) on the jack. Wire (+) wire from right speaker to pin (3) on the jack. Wire (+) wire from left speaker to pin (4) on the jack. Wire Sena (L+) to pin 5 on the jack. When wired this way, no headphone in the jack = audio to the speakers.
A1EX8 Adventurer. Morning all, so this weekend Ive wired new drivers into my Sena SRL comms set. The latest software updates to everything appears to have the connections stable now so my thoughts turned to audio quality. (I still get the weird ticking noise in my right ear from time to time though). The SRL kit fits beautifully into my Neotec ...
Using the intercom - worked well. 1/4 mile separation no problem on super slab. From 14 hour ride - two annoying issues: 1) audio mixing did not work well switching between music and intercom - never heard music. Mic might be too sensitive or music too soft. 2) battery ran out at hour 11 for me.
2,247. Location: Northville, Michigan. At the International Motorcycle Show in my area last weekend, I got a good look at the new Chatterbox X1 Slim. Two features I liked: 1) FRS/GMRS radio with ~5-mile range (My Cardo Scala G4 is really only good for a 1/2 mile, with good line of sight) 2) 3.5mm. female adaptor for in-helmet headphones (I had ...
Make sure the components are placed properly. You can just jam this comm set unto a helmet and ride away with excess speaker wires dangling in the wind, or you can make sure everything’s in the right place, and get better performance. The mic: Cardo provides two mics. One has a wire and a sticky pad.
Yeah, I don't think anyone has successfully paired a Cardo or Sena with a set of Bluetooth earbuds. Both Cardo and Sena are designed to use external wired buds in lieu of speakers but retain the Cardo or Sena mic. In a bit of testing, the boom mic a finger width away from the mouth had the best performance.
The Specifics. The Neo’s features, like the Edge, make this comm a great addition to your riding gear: Operating Temperature: -4˚ F to 131 ˚ F (-20˚C to 55˚C) Waterproof. FM Radio – 6 preset station memory. Software Updates Over-the-air (to be fair, this is a really nice feature) Speakers: Diameter: 40mm – Depth: 10mm.
Anyway, the Tripltek Pro 8 at 8" is appealing., well accept the price in Australia which is AU$1,399. Ouch. The mount might be interesting for larger phones as the like of the RAM mounts appear to be getting limited by the newer larger phones in cases. Been through a zumo 550, and 660 already.
