Dec 6, 2014. Oddometer: 321. So I have an SMH-10 as well as a 20S. I want to connect some wired in ear buds to the Sena device to help with noise reduction as well as clean music. Currently, I install some foam plugs and crank the Sena to 11. MY 2 Sena units won't play directly through to the headphones. I'm not interested in wiring and soldering.

I agree it's a bit surprising the helmet communicators can't pair with bluetooth headphones. It would be kind of complicated to manage though wouldn't it. Let's say my earbuds are paired to my phone. Phone <--> Earbuds. Now I go get on the bike and want this. Phone <--> Sena <--> Earbuds.
The helmet speakers are hard-wired to the base hence the need to purchase the base with an earbud jack. This was before the 20 came out so maybe all the newer units come ready for earbuds.
Wire (+) wire from right speaker to pin (3) on the jack. Wire (+) wire from left speaker to pin (4) on the jack. Wire Sena (L+) to pin 5 on the jack. When wired this way, no headphone in the jack = audio to the speakers. When headphone is connected, speakers turn off and audio is routed to the headphones. Click to expand...
