TLDR: My review of the flux footwear adapt trainer. Overall love the shoe, really comfortable (especially the sole) and wide enough toe box for my narrow foot, and performs great for all my crossfits style/weighlifting workouts. UPDATE AS OF 12/31/2023:
The sub is called barefoot running, the focus first and foremost is BAREFOOT, minimalist footwear as a transition option. This is no where near that. This isn't gatekeeping, this is keeping on the topic of the intention of this sub. Otherwise it's just any other running sub talking about whatever stupid new crap running shoe.
Hmm. I disagree with the others here I guess. A 10mm sole is about right for comfortable minimal, though not barefoot, footwear. Also like the grooved sole. Similar shoes (like the Xero Prio) don't have quite enough flex in the sole, and as a result can feel quite slappy. So yeah, these sound pretty great to me.
I’ve had them for about a year. The toe box is more narrow like a standard shoe, but they are zero drop. I wear them for casual use because they do have a comfortable liner that reminds me of Skora shoes which were my favorite shoes until they were discontinued.
Nike used a similar sole in their Free line for years. It felt great, but those expanding flex grooves would pick up rocks like nobody's business.

Hello! I want to get into wearing shoes that are more healthy for my feet and I want to start with finding a shoe with a wide toe box. I’ve tried to do research and I’ve heard so many mixed reviews on Altra shoes as well as Flux footwear. I’m interested in the Flex adapt runners and the Altra via Olympus 2s.
I have started getting slight plantar pain once again so I am ordering a pair of kuru flux (I like the sneaker style). I hope they're as amazing as the quantum's were to me many many years ago. (First pair of kurus back in 2014). I ALWAYS recommend these and anyone who tries them loves them. Vionics are good too.

I have the Flux Adept trainers for my daily shoe. I switched to them from Vans. My biggest complaint would be how easily your feet get wet with even little splashes. For example, after it's finished raining and there's still water on the sidewalk the act of walking will "throw" water onto the toe area. That won't soak your feet, but you'll feel it.
