Can't choose between the two. i just like watching cdramas more purely bc of length. kdrama episodes are sooo long. ik in the end since cdrama seasons are longer, kdramas & cdramas are about the same length overall. but it’s much easier for me to sit down and watch a 30-45min ep than a 60-90min ep.
My 2022 Samsung TVs have issues with the Plex app and won't work sometimes. However, LG OLED doesn't seem to have issues with any apps I use. That's why I use a Firestick with lesser known apps. TV manufacturers will usually update the most popular apps, like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney, & etc.

As for variety shows, none of their subtitled shows are the "staples" of the Korean variety show circuit. Most popular Korean variety shows are probably Runningman, 1 Night 2 Days (1N2D), Knowing Bros (Ask Anything), Master in the House, Return of Superman, etc. Viki, Kocowa, Netflix are probably the more popular platforms.
