To set your proper expectations that Word online has only a limited features, unlike with the Word app that has a multiple features and you can save a template that has a navigation pane enabled by default and in addition when you put a check mark under navigation pane it would automatically open the navigation area unlike in Word online you need to do it manually or you need to click on it ...

In my experience, Word Online is using the unit of measurement that has been specified in the operating system. EDIT : My initial conclusion turned out to be incorrect. See more recent replies.

Right now you folks can insert, have access to content controls in documents, you can also edit them in Word Online. (please note that this you can do programmatically not directly with Word Online in other words there is still no developer tab in Word Online)
There is a setting in word desktop version to show bookmarks as below: File=>Options=>Advanced=>Show bookmarks. I was wondering if anyone knows how to view all the footnotes at once when using the online platform of Word because it doesn't give me an option. I'm working on an essay for one of my classes and so, I'm trying to format all my footnotes in single space, but I can't actually see the footnotes with its sources at the bottom of a page.
