The Bunsen/Desaga design generated a hot, sootless, non-luminous flame by mixing the gas with air in a controlled fashion before combustion. Desaga created adjustable slits for air at the bottom of the cylindrical burner, with the flame issuing at the top. When the building opened early in 1855, Desaga had made 50 burners for Bunsen's students.
Julia Lermontova. Robert Wilhelm Eberhard Bunsen ( German: [ˈbʊnzən]; 30 March 1811 [ a] – 16 August 1899) was a German chemist. He investigated emission spectra of heated elements, and discovered caesium (in 1860) and rubidium (in 1861) with the physicist Gustav Kirchhoff. [ 11] The Bunsen–Kirchhoff Award for spectroscopy is named after ...
Bunsen Beast (voiced by Jeremy Rowley) is the titular character. He is a small beast who becomes friends with Mikey and is the first beast to become a student in a human school. Bunsen's body is colored blue, cyan, light blue, and white, with magenta-colored lips, arms, and legs. He is very often seen with a dragon-like tail. Bunsen tends to ...
The Bunsen reaction is a chemical reaction that describes water, sulfur dioxide, and iodine reacting to form sulfuric acid and hydrogen iodide : 2H 2 O + SO 2 + I 2 → H 2 SO 4 + 2HI. This reaction is the first step in the sulfur-iodine cycle to produce hydrogen. The products separate into two aqueous layers, with the sulfuric acid floating on ...
A flame test is relatively quick test for the presence of some elements in a sample. The technique is archaic and of questionable reliability, but once was a component of qualitative inorganic analysis. The phenomenon is related to pyrotechnics and atomic emission spectroscopy. [1] The color of the flames is understood through the principles of ...

Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is a Muppet character from the sketch comedy television series The Muppet Show, created and performed by Dave Goelz. He is a bald, yellow - green skinned, bespectacled, lab-coated scientist who presented periodic science segments from "Muppet ...
A concerted drive, including a poll (scrutinised by the Electoral Reform Society) to select the track, saw "Bunsen Burner" — with music sampled from the Trammps song "Disco Inferno" and lyrics devised to help his daughter with her chemistry homework – reach number nine in the UK Singles Chart on 6 October, [4] and earned Otway an appearance ...
Peter Desaga. Peter Desaga was a German instrument maker at the University of Heidelberg who worked with Robert Bunsen. Collaborating with Bunsen in 1855 on interior facilities for the new chemical laboratory at the university, Desaga perfected an earlier design of the laboratory burner by Michael Faraday into the Bunsen burner .
