It has a small (although useful) subset of the features of the desktop application. This is something Word Online is not set up to do.

Guys, Is there an easy way to move a picture in Word Online? When selecting a picture all I get are the crop-handles, and I don't get a move option at all. Jack
You cannot insert a caption into a document when using Word Online, You will need to open it in Desktop App and add the caption in that app and the save the document and resume editing in Word Online.
