  2. [No Spoilers] The Origin of “Bad News” : r/criticalrole - Reddit

A small sized double hackbut does 2d10 damage and has a relatively long range. Bad News also has a long range and 2d10 damage dice. For either flavor or balance, they lowered the capacity down to one, but I believe that the bones of Bad News lie in the Double Hackbut from Pathfinder. Tl;dr- Bad News is a modified Hackbut from Pathfinder and, it ...

but_im_a_horse. • 2 yr. ago. I think Bad News is meant to be breechloading + wheel-lock, as Tal had described it, but I think a muzzleloader is just as cool! Thank you for the clarification, I intend to use this art in an upcoming (non-streamed) game I'm running in Wildemount, so thank you :3. 4.

During the american civil war (the hight of muzzle-loading technology) an incredibly well-practiced soldier could get off 3/4 rounds per minute . That's one every 15 seconds, or almost 3 full turns in D&D. In the above video, the re-enactor is only managing that going full tilt, and not aiming before each shot.

The answer is that it's up to the DM. If it's supposed to be more expensive than the blunderbuss, you could go anywhere from 500g to 1500g. I'm actually in the middle of a C1 rewatch and Percy just had to repair Bad News, which Matt said cost 400gp. Since repairs are half of the build cost, Bad News must be 800gp.

Harrow the Ninth Spoilers. When the heroes are fighting the Sleeper in the River Bubble, the Sleeper pulls out a large, long rifle that "looked like bad news." Bad News is the name of the long rifle designed and wielded by Percival de Rollo in Critical Role season 1. Is this a deliberate reference?

According to this thread, in 1x56 Percy repairs Bad News for 400gp, which means it'd cost about 800gp worth of supplies. That tracks roughly with what I'd expect from the table in the Gunslinger - the damage is twice as good as the musket, the range is about 150% better, and it has explosive ammo, with only a 5% increased misfire cost. 7. Yes and yes, but it’s more an interpretation of the weapons than an exact match. Taliesin has said the the weapons make no sense in real life and are very impractical so I wanted to have what were in essence practical versions that still match the look and feel. The real Bad News also weighs 25 pounds. Ah, makes sense.

1d10 +4 average of 9.5 dmg per round. Bad news would be a burst of 2d12 +4, avg of 17 for the first round. It's too high an opener I find. At lvl 5. Pistol would be 2 pistol shot at 19 dmg average. While bad news would be at 17 dmg average. On 3 turn you get an average of 51 for bad news and 47.5 for pistol. Bad news higher damage is covered by ...

As a gunslinger he is a slave to ammunition, and he can trade one of his attacks to 'reload.'. The pistol has 6 shots before a reload, and bad news has 1 shot before a reload. That's three pistol shots, or six pistol shots with action surge - or 2 bad news shots/4 bad news shots with action surge. And every shot has a non-stacking 5% chance of ...
