Is there any way I can disable SteelSeries Sonar? I Activated it but it didn't really give me results like I had from THX Spatial Sound so I customized settings in Realtek Control Panel and that has been doing a great job for me but now I have to switch to default Input/Output devices every time I restart the system because it will automatically switch to SteelSeries Sonar and I have to Keep ...
Same problem here. Since i've installed Sonar at each boot i lost my sonar output / mic. Used the ps1 script to defined my sonic by default works for the OS but not for GG. What a shame on $500+ stuff.. - Going to search if steelseries app got and conf files anywhere to force "read only" and manually force the outputs. By custo .sql request ...
make sure to turn on "virtual surround" in your sonar - game settings. I'm using it for a few weeks now and really like it. I'm wondering the same. I'm not sure if I completely disabled it in the GG app because my sound is also a bit different than before. I use the Arctis Pro Wireless.
Opt in to the Sonar Alpha by following the steps detailed here . When Sonar is configured, go to Settings > General, and disable Sonar from there. Sonar audio devices should now be gone. Summed up quite well by the OP of the post I linked: Such a horrible experience. 2. Award. I have the Arctis 7 wireless. Since the recent update to GG 10.0 or ...
For Windows 10, right click the sound icon, then select sounds. A menu will pop up, go to playback on it. find the device you want to be default, right click it, then set to default device. Windows should now prioritize that device now when it recognizes it. Also if you don't use SteelSeries Sonar, you can disable it from here too.
once you see sonar go to General in Settings and turn off sonar. open Device Manager and find Sound, video and game controllers. you will see your two playback devices (thats how many it is for me) and Steelseries Sonar Virtual Audio device, right click it and disable the sonar virtual audio device. Once i disabled Steelseries Sonar Virtual ...
Youd need to disable sonar. It isn't really steelseries that does this, its windows and steelseries sonar is just taking the primary input. 7. Award. Share. eastenl. OP • 1 yr. ago. SteelSeries steals the default Output and Input device when it starts. I use VoiceMeeter to manage audio streams so I don't want SteelSeries changing anything.
I then turned it off to avoid having so many and havent noticed a difference. Ive noticed mixed reviews about Sonar and was wondering if it was worth turning back on? Sort by: Add a Comment. This is too convoluted. Disabling it in windows, disables sonar altogether. Also: I don't want to automatically switch to my monitor speakers when the headset is disabled. Not only is the sound quality worse, I want the manual control over this. Jesus, this software has such a bad design I slowly regret buying steelseries again.
