    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/removal-of-plastic-heat-trap-from-new...

I just replaced an old traditional GE water heater with a new Rheem water heater (also traditional). I have two gravity recirculating loops that worked great with old water heater. They don't work with new heater. After some research, I think it's because the new heater has heat trap inserts...

  3. Rheem Home Depot quality same as plumbing supply house?

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/rheem-home-depot-quality-same-as...

I called Rheem's customer support line and a representative said there's no difference between the two besides name and the location they are sold in. Home Depot sells the Performance Platinum for $1199, local supply house sells the Professional Prestige for ~$1130.

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/recommendation-for-50-gallon-gas-water...

Our Rheem 50 gallon water heater is leaking from the bottom and I'm about to replace it. The options are another Rheem from Home Depot, an AO Smtih branded model from Lowe's or a Reliance "self-cleaning" unit (also AO smith I think) from Pride Home center.

  5. Rheem vs AO Smith Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater HPWH

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/rheem-vs-ao-smith-hybrid-heat-pump...

The Rheem seems to be a little more efficient (3.50 vs 3.24 energy factor) and the compressor runs down to 37 degrees which is attractive for my garage installation. I'm pretty sure that the Smith compressor cutoff is 42 degrees. The Rheem is 100-200 bucks more expensive.

  6. Rheem Gladiator 50 gal "a114 error" - Love Plumbing & Remodel

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/rheem-gladiator-50-gal-a114-error.84075

I recently installed a new Rheem from HD and had to go through 4 units to get one that wouldn't leak. The store manager verified that this is a very common problem. Having worked for a multibillion dollar millwork supplier who supplied both HD and Lowes I'm guessing they just send them back to Rheem and Rheem has to just bite the bullet.

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/rheem-tankless-water-heater-error-code...

I'm asking this learned group because Rheem doesn't have a "contracting plumber" in Grand Junction and most of the plumbers here are not familiar with tankless units. I've done all the diagnostic checks suggested by Rheem and they all check out; voltage to the white and blue molex, flame rod status, etc.

  8. The dreaded Rheem flammable vapour sensor error

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/the-dreaded-rheem-flammable-vapour...

According to Rheem, the FVS can literally be set off by dust and humidity, and they won't replace it under warranty. She lives in an old house with a damp and dusty basement that gets a bit of water during heavy rain, but this sensor was never wet or exposed to any kind of flammable vapour.

  9. Rheem Flammable Vapor Sensor repeated lockouts

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/rheem-flammable-vapor-sensor-repeated...

Hello, I have a Rheem Powervent water heater (gas) model 42VP40F (40 gallon) manufactured 05/2007. Starting in the last year, the Flammable Vapor Sensor has started tripping intermittently. The gas valve I have is a Robert Shaw with a manual red dial. About a year ago we had one occurence and...

  10. Is anyone using the new Rheem Tankless with built-in recirc?

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/is-anyone-using-the-new-rheem-tankless...

FWIW - I called Rheem Tankless a few times over the past 2 days. Their customer support is HORRIBLE. I spoke with 2 different "product experts" who both knew very little about their products. With regard to the new Rheem RTGH-RH11DVLN, the rep gave me

  11. Rheem Hot Water Heat Pump Anode Replacement

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/rheem-hot-water-heat-pump-anode...

I recently moved into a new construction home with a Rheem hybrid hot water heater (PROPH50 T2 RH350 DC). Unfortunately, my hot water has developed that dreaded sulfur smell so I would like to try replacing the anode in this tank with a powered unit. The manual for the tank says there is an...
