It really depends on what you're looking for. Blitz is very casual compared to WoT PC. It has a mix of people from PC to mobile devices. Many people who want to play the normal PC version but can't due to system requirements have played this. Not only that, but it's more fast paced. 5 minutes per battles, smaller teams.

World of Tanks has more players than Blitz (so far) but it is new to Steam. Also, if you have been playing World of Tanks before and want to play it on Steam you have to start over with a new account. That’s fine if you are a new olayer but veterans may not want to give up all their tanks. Blitz is different.

Blitz also has a limit of 1 difference in tank classes between the teams and a limit on the number of td's. I don't think Blitz goes as far into roles, such as Scout, as WOT does. Lights and and mediums are lumped together, for example. Blitz does have multiple roles that are used for tank balancing and for special abilities in Mad Games.
