1848 Colored National Convention. The 1848 Colored National Convention was a convention held by free black men as part of the Colored Conventions Movement. The convention was held from September 6 to September 8, 1848, in Cleveland, Ohio, at the courthouse. [1] The convention met to vote on 34 Resolutions.
