I leased a 2017 Volt LT in June (MSRP $35,095). My negotiated pre-incentive dealer price was $31,342 ($3,748 dealer discount). GM employee price for the exact same vehicle is $32,560 ($2,531 discount). So my self-negotiated deal was over $1,200 better than the employee discount. Employee discount is usually GOOD, but if you’re a grinder like ...
BuyPower Card, GM Card, and GM Flexible Earnings Card Earnings may not be used with fleet vehicle incentive programs or with some other offers and discounted sale programs, such as the GM Employee Discount Program. Those cards don’t work with GMS. However GM has a card for employees (and GM suppliers) and family called GM Extended family card ...
The dealers don’t get a full reimbursement of the entire discount. For example the supplier discount on a 2021 Bolt Premier is $1237 – but given feedback from others on this forum, it’s believed the incentive to the dealer is between $500 and $1000. The actual kickback varies by vehicle. @ethanrs is a great resource for these type of ...
The reason being that the dealer (s) often have other programs that can significantly beat GM employee pricing. Sometimes the other dealer programs beat GM employee pricing by thousands of dollars. The other reason I don’t often use GM employee pricing is that I cannot use my (Original) GM card rebate money with an employee price deal.

I know they get 2 a year to either use or hand out to friends and family. Any input or advice would be appreciated, thanks! DistrictCars July 12, 2023, 5:53pm 2. Do you know ...
It was $42,745. Looking at the GM family website, a base XT5 has an MSRP of $42690 and an employee discounted price of $38924.74. You then get all of the incentives as well. So since you have $12184 in incentives I calculate that you could get a new one for around $30k plus taxes and tags etc.
Original price was $42,745.00. After discount I only paid $25,900. No one can come close to this deal…it was 16,000.00 off. Not 600. The $660 difference was the difference between what your deal is and the (GMS price for an unused unit less incentives). A brand new unit would get a GMS discount of around $4k.
I found the MF is .00044 and the RV is 59%. I can qualify for $1000 loyalty and aside from that the only other incentives going is a local dealer has an ad showing a $1000 buy American bonus. Looking on gm family first site it looks like the gm discount for this model is around 7% off of MSRP (my dad gave me a code as he is retired from GM)
But, let’s say the 2019’s are now hotting the lot and the dealer wants to unload his 2018’s and they are getting aggressive on their pricing. I’ve been eligible for GM employee pricing for many years. Sometimes the employee price is the best deal. Sometimes the dealer will discount the vehicle more on a regular deal than on employee ...
