Sharpness: 8 Aberrations: 6 Bokeh: 9 Handling: 7 Value: 9 Camera Used: Nikon D2X. This is first version of Vivitar 70-210mm 3.5 nicely done, as my unit was made more than fourty years ago! and still work and give good shots in 2021. My unit focus ring is a bit stiff on macro mode on 180-210mm range, the only flaw.

The older variants with better reputation were 70-210/3.5, the newer, presumably Cosina made are 70-210/2.8-4. If I were you, I would take a camera or a lens with me and compare the mount. However, Vivitar used to designate the mounts with imprinted abbreviations mostly on the aperture ring: "PK" or "K" for plain vanilla K-mount,

Edit #3: Compared it to the Tokina SZ-X 28-70mm f/2.8-4.3....the Vivitar is modestly sharper at open apertures and they are about equal by f/8. The Vivitar has slightly better contrast and saturation and open apertures (splitting hairs) and it is equal by f/8. I'm going to try doing some portraits (of people, not dogs) wide open at about 60mm next.

Best lens i have, i sold my DAL 50-200mm to finance the vivitar... boy am i glad i did. where the pentax just sat on a shelf, the vivitar won't leave my camera bag. manual control and all, its still much easier to get beautiful shots which the pentax was unable to deliver. Guess such comparison isnt even fair as the pentax is not in the same class.
