3. San Antonio, TX. May 18, 2021. #1. After 2 years, my charger cable with a NEMA 50 plug, began running very hot at the plug all the way to the cable's LED display. Too hot to touch! I called electrician, who replaced the NEMA 50 outlet and the 50 A dual breaker. Plug and cable still runs very hot, and worse, the max charging current is <32 A ...

Thus, I dont think you will find any charger longer than 24 feet, and they all likely say not to use any extension cord if you are going more than 24 feet.
Included with the car is a mobile connector that can charge on a normal 120v outlet (gets around 3 miles per hour). They also give you a J1772 adapter for non-tesla charging stations. The 14-50 adapter ($35/not included) will allow you to use your 14-50 outlet with the mobile connector. So you really just need to buy the 14-50 adapter.
Jun 17, 2021. #2. I got my Model Y in September 2020. It came with a Tesla Mobile Connector with a NEMA 5-20 adapter. That’s plus into a “normal” 120 volt 15 or 20 amp receptacle. If you need to charge faster than 4 miles added per hour then you could have a NEMA 14-50R installed and by the 14-50 adapter from Tesla for $45.

The problem with using an extension cable is twofold. First, it's another connector that can fail. Second, the extra length will likely push it beyond the EVSE's design limits. I don't know about Tesla's specs, but IIRC, the J1772 standard (which is pretty similar) specifies a 25-foot limit to the charging cable.
