The International Airlines Travel Agent Network ( IATAN) is a Miami -based trade association in the United States representing the interests of its member companies ( airlines) and the U.S. travel distribution network ( travel agencies ). [1] [2] It is an independent department of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Country codes are defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in ITU-T standards E.123 and E.164. The prefixes enable international direct dialing (IDD). Country codes constitute the international telephone numbering plan. They are used only when dialing a telephone number in a country or world region other than the caller's.
The area code was activated on August 1, 2001 and began use on April 1, 2002. As the overlay plan required, ten-digit dialing became mandatory in Broward. Area codes 850 and 448 are telephone area codes in the North American Numbering Plan for the Florida panhandle, including Pensacola, Tallahassee and Panama City. Area code 850 was created in 1997 in a split from 904, and area code 448 was assigned as a second code to the same area in an overlay plan in 2019, and mandatory ten-digit local calling began in May 2021.
