    The game will have complex mechanics which is easier to do in c#, plus Unity lets you pause the engine and look at things in realtime ( really helps with debugging complex stuff ).     It is really hard to maintain a project of a decent size in GM2, GML is vastly inferior to C#, Unity has much better tools (GUI/Player window/debugging etc). GM2 is easier to start with, it deals in pixels instead of units, you'll have an easier time setting up a pixel art project, GML allows more liberties.
