Asbury Park High School is a comprehensive, community public high school serving students in seventh through twelfth grades.It is in a landmark building in Asbury Park, in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, that was constructed during the New Deal as a model high school campus.

Prior to the Garden State Parkway making points south more accessible, Asbury Park was a prominent shore vacation destination in New Jersey; from the late 1800s through mid-century and beyond, the city's establishments had a heavy focus on live musical entertainment.
When Asbury Park declined in the 1980s, all of the other gay clubs in the city closed or were razed. However, Down the Street managed to stay open, and when it closed in 1999 it was the oldest and longest-operating gay disco in New Jersey's history. Hitchcock moved to Florida with his partner and opened a bar called The Cubby Hole.
Bradley also served as the first Mayor of Asbury Park, New Jersey (1893–1902) and as a councilman. In 1894, Bradley was elected to the New Jersey Senate from Monmouth County. The City of Asbury Park sued Bradley for control of his beachfront property and sewer system in 1902. Bradley lost the suit. Bradley died June 6, 1921.
