The med was still crazy expensive and there was a much cheaper generic so I cxled and never received the speciality pharmacy med. FSAFEDS sent me money for the speciality pharmacy med. I called and spent hours talking with them and basically they don’t care…..its your money so who cares if someone is submitting ordered vs received meds.

I get the itemized receipt (there is a special name for it - but the one with the billing codes). I remember years ago you could just sending in OTC receipts and get reimbursed for most of the items.
This thread is for people to complain about poor FSAFEDS claims processing. The HSA particulars depend on the FEHB HDHP. Create a separate thread with the HDHP you are considering and ask for feedback on claims processing
When FSAFeds overpaid me I dropped an appeal I would have otherwise filed and won. Hours on the phone saved. The only important thing (for there are no audits of this stuff) is just that you don't get reimbursed more than you spent for eligible expenses in total at the end of the year.
In 2011 FSAFEDS suddenly declined the $690.00 reimbursement, asking for the copy of contract showing it is an individual gym contract. When I called in December 2011 to provide the information, I was told that I already reached the $5k limit for 2011, and there no need to re-apply that claim again.
I HATED fsafeds and stayed away from it for about 10 years. This year I knew I had a procedure come up, so I put money into it. It was super simple to use and got me my reimbursement quick. It did deny a few doctor's receipts I tried to get reimbursement for (I shouldn't have bothered, but it was like $400 in January.
In the meantime FSAFEDS is happily continuing to deduct our balance from DH's paycheck, and we don't know what to do about next year since this is a benefit we really could use for health expenses but are hesitant to just give them the money away without knowing if we'll ever get it back.
Right- you can't use it for any expenses incurred while you are at home. You both have to be working or in school full-time.
This is the OP. I don’t know the answer to the second question, but with the government insurance policies, you can set it up so the copays are paid directly from your withholding.
If you have money in a FSAFeds account that you haven't used and leave gov't service mid-year, can you submit claims that accrue after you leave the gov't? report 02/06/2019 13:26
