This COULD be Steam Wallet funds at a very low conversion rate. Google Play, for example, gives you 1 point per $1 spent, which you can buy Google Play Credit at $1 per 100 points. Say the average movie rental is about $5, I'd get a free movie rental after 20 movies. Not like "Buy X things and get 1 free thing" is a new concept.
They aren't going to allow points to be converted into real money. Speak of one of the devils. Oh i guess also don't forget that $1 = 100 so for a $60 game you get 6000 points. Then for that $60 game Valve only kept at most $18. So if 1 Steam Point is equal to $0.001 that is $6 or 1/3 of steam's profit. So at the rate you propose Valve's profit per game is cut from between 33-50%. #12.
Probably already been suggested but i think giving you the option to turn steam points into steam wallet balance would be a tremendously beneficial idea for all parties. Steam would have more loyalty from players by buying games to then eventually convert steam points into $5/£5. It would lessen the effect of Epic Games' monopoly by stealing ...

Nope. The options are Steam Wallet or Original Payment Method. If the original payment method is the Steam Wallet, then it will only go back to the Steam wallet. Here pro tip, if you have a bank account, use bank transfer such as PayPal, PaySafe, or etc as you only need to link your bank to those services, then you can use on service to pay for your stuff such as Steam, or etc...
